Strong rise of Danish Intraday
Amsterdam / Bern / Brussels / Leipzig / London / Paris / Vienna, 2 September 2020. In August 2020, a total volume of 47.2 TWh was traded on EPEX SPOT’s Day-Ahead and Intraday power markets (August 2019: 47.7 TWh).
In August 2020, power trading on the Day-Ahead markets on EPEX SPOT accounted for 38,020.6 GWh (August 2019: 40,289.3 GWh). The Norwegian Day-Ahead reached 740.9 GWh. The GB 30 minute Day-Ahead auction rose by 49.2% on year and reached 363.3 GWh.
On the EPEX SPOT Intraday markets, a total volume of 9,194.7 GWh was traded in August 2020 (August 2019: 7,361.8 TWh). The Danish Intraday market reached 140.9 GWh. A monthly record volume was registered on the Belgian Intraday market with 263.6 GWh (+ 87.7% on year). The Dutch Intraday market displayed a healthy growth rate of 36.3% on year, reaching 377.3 GWh.
886.5 GWh were traded on the Intraday auctions, covering hourly, half-hourly and 15 minute contracts. This represents a rise of 23.7% on year.
