Paris, 24 November 2023. Together with other EU power exchanges, EPEX SPOT calls for the deletion of the Single Legal Entity from the European Electricity Market Design (EMD) reform, currently in trilogue between EU Council, EU Commission, and the European Parliament. In an interview with leading commodities media Platts, Ralph Danielski, CEO of EPEX SPOT, together with Tom Darrell, CEO of Nord Pool, explains the dangers of EU Commission's proposal to centralise Market Coupling operations in a Single Legal Entity. The measure would be a risky and disruptive intervention on the world's most successful cross-border power trading system.
